Tennis Residential

Camp Location

Leighton Park School
Shinfield Road
Reading
Berkshire, UK
RG2 7DE

Dates: April 6th, 7th, and 8th.

Our coaches:

Our technical lead / head of performance coach holds a LTA Senior Performance accreditation (LTA 4), they will be responsible for designing the programme and leading sessions. In support we have LTA3 coaches. Our coach to player ratio will be ~1:8.

What’s is a residential tennis camp?

A tennis residential camp differs from a day-camp mainly due to players staying overnight in secure, private accommodation. When the day-campers leave around ~3:30pm – the residential players enjoy extra activities, dinner, and have free time to engage in a social environment.

We deliver a number of workshops, focusing on key areas that keep a young athlete fit and ready to take to the pitch. These include: personal development plans, team building, mental resilience sessions, nutrition workshops, introduction to strength and conditioning, and recovery sessions.

What is included in the syllabus? Our Residential is designed to mirror the life of a professional academy scholar.

  • On-Court: Delivered by LTA-qualified Performance Coaches, focusing on technical stroke correction, tactical court positioning, and match-play scenarios.
  • Off-Court: We deliver elite sports science workshops including: Speed, Agility, Reaction, and Congnitive Testing (using technology used by professional sports clubs), Sports Yoga for injury prevention, and Performance Nutrition.

Staffing & Player Welfare

Our Philosophy: Our staff are carefully selected for their character, not just their qualifications. We hire mentors who know how to engage with young athletes, putting player care and development first. Always.

Vetting Standards: Every member of staff holds an Enhanced DBS check and relevant LTA/FA qualifications. For added peace of mind, our full staffing register is vetted and approved by Leighton Park School’s own compliance team prior to the camp.

Medical Support: Unlike standard holiday camps, we have our own Professional Sports Physiotherapist on-site 24/7 to manage recovery, injury prevention, and welfare immediately.

Boarding Facilities Players stay in the historic boarding houses within the secure, gated grounds of Leighton Park School.

  • Rooms: Players will share a room with 1 to 3 other players of the same age.
  • Security: Boys and Girls are housed in separate boarding houses/floors with strict separation.
  • Supervision: Our Pastoral Care Team and Lead Coaches stay on-site 24/7 to ensure welfare.
  • Facilities: Shared bathroom facilities and a comfortable “Common Room” with sofas/TV for downtime.

Food & Nutrition We provide Full Board catering (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner) prepared by the school’s professional chefs.

Fuel for Sport: Menus are designed to provide young athletes with the energy required for high-intensity training.

Dietary Needs: We cater for Vegetarian, Vegan, Halal, Gluten-Free, and specific allergies (please state on form you will receive closer to the time of camp).
