What is a football residential?

Many parents ask us: “What is the difference between a normal holiday camp and a residential?”

A Football Residential Camp is an immersive, multi-day training experience where players stay on-site (boarding), mirroring the lifestyle of a professional academy scholar.

Unlike a standard “Day Camp” where training ends at 3:00 PM, a Residential allows us to work on the “Complete Athlete” around the clock:

  • The “Hidden” Hours: We teach players how to fuel (Nutrition), how to recover (Yoga/Physio), and how to prepare mentally (Sports Psychology) – things you cannot teach in a 5-hour day camp.
  • Independence: For many players (Ages 10-15), this is their first taste of living away from home, building maturity, social skills, and self-reliance in a safe, gated environment.
  • Intensity: With 3 sessions a day (Morning Technical, Afternoon Tactical, Evening Tournament), the development curve is accelerated.

At REPs, we bridge the gap between “Holiday Fun” and “Pro Academy,” giving players a safe environment to test their potential.

Staffing & Player Welfare

Our Philosophy: Our staff are carefully selected for their character, not just their qualifications. We hire mentors who know how to engage with young athletes, putting player care and development first. Always.

Vetting Standards: Every member of staff holds an Enhanced DBS check and relevant LTA/FA qualifications. For added peace of mind, our full staffing register is vetted and approved by Leighton Park School’s own compliance team prior to the camp.

Medical Support: Unlike standard holiday camps, we have our own Professional Sports Physiotherapist on-site 24/7 to manage recovery, injury prevention, and welfare immediately.

Boarding Facilities Players stay in the historic boarding houses within the secure, gated grounds of Leighton Park School.

  • Rooms: Players will share a room with 1 to 3 other players of the same age.
  • Security: Boys and Girls are housed in separate boarding houses/floors with strict separation.
  • Supervision: Our Pastoral Care Team and Lead Coaches stay on-site 24/7 to ensure welfare.
  • Facilities: Shared bathroom facilities and a comfortable “Common Room” with sofas/TV for downtime.

Food & Nutrition We provide Full Board catering (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner) prepared by the school’s professional chefs.

Fuel for Sport: Menus are designed to provide young athletes with the energy required for high-intensity training.

Dietary Needs: We cater for Vegetarian, Vega
